Have you ever thought about how you want to be remembered? What if today was your last day on earth? How would people remember you? What would people say about you when you are gone?
I want people to remember me as someone who was kind.
Joseph B. Wirthlin said, “Kindness is the essence of greatness.”
Have you noticed how far a kind act goes? Or how much a simple compliment brightens your day? It isn’t hard to be kind, it doesn’t take that much extra time or energy. When you are kind you, and the person to whom you are kind, both have a better day. You can never be too kind!
I remember there was a time when I was having an awful day, everything was going wrong and I was just in a bad mood. Out of nowhere my friend stopped by with a box of Oreos and a flower. She didn’t know I was having a bad day; she just stopped by to say hi. This simple act of kindness changed my whole day.
President Thomas S. Monson said, “Every day of our lives we are given opportunities to show love and kindness to those around us.” I promise you that if you find these opportunities you will be happier.
Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the perfect example of kindness. Everything He did was because of His love for us. He didn’t go around teaching and healing people for popularity or fame. He did it out of love.
