Love is a hard thing to understand sometimes. Jesus taught us to love one another. But how can we do that if we dislike someone? How can we love someone who’s hurt us; emotionally, physically or spiritually?
My science teacher is the only teacher that bugs me this school year. But I actually like the class. I like the people and what is being taught. But I do not like the teacher. Of course I could just go on telling you why I dislike him, but that is not necessary; because our modern living day prophets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have taught us that we should love one another regardless of whether we agree with them or not. And some days it is really hard for me to love my teacher–like a brother–when I don’t agree on something with him.
I can’t force you to love others, but I can give you advice. What I want to do is encourage you to be a friend to all. What I want you to do is just listen. Please just take a moment to think about those who are hard to love in your life and how you can better love others.
Christ has given us the power to love others. So while we may find it difficult to love others, with Christ you can do all things. “I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13.
Let us press forward with strength through Christ. Let us rely entirely on our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Pray to Him. Kneel before Him, and call out His name. He is always there for you. You do not have to search for Christ. He has always been there for you and He always will. Please take a couple of minutes and pray. Let Him hear you and you will get your answer. I know that by being obedient and kind, I can have the power of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Come, follow Him.
